Mayor Joseph DeStefano swore in the Middletown Fire Department Board of Engineers Tuesday evening in the common counsel chambers at city hall. The meeting was opened up by the pledge of allegiance under the direction of Orange County Sheriff Carl Debois. Sworn in were Chief Engineer Don Luis, 1st Asst. Chief Engineer Nick Barber, 2nd Asst. Chief Engineer Bob Brady and 3rd Asst. Chief Gil Flores. Following the ceremony, a small reception was held at the Olde Erie on West Main St..
On Tuesday January 2, 2018. mayor Joseph DeStefano swore in the members of the Middletown Fire Police. The ceremony was in conjunction with the swearing in of the Middletown Fire chiefs and the city officials. The fire Police are under the direction of Captain Robert Bennett.
The swearing in ceremony for the newly elected Middletown Fire Departments Board of Engineers will be held on Tuesday January 2, 2018 at 7 pm in common council chambers at city hall. All are invited to attend!
On behalf of the officers and members of the Middletown Fire Department, we would like to thank Chief Sam Barone for his time and effort he has shown to the citizens of the city of Middletown NY as well as the citizens in the territory that we have provided coverage to on mutual aid and our department. Chief Barone served this department from July 2006 until July of 2009 as the Chief Engineer. He them stepped in and finished a term for a past chief in 2014-15 then ran for chief and was re-elected in 2015 for another 3-year term. He stepped down this morning, January 1, 2018 at 7am turning his position over to newly elected Chief Don Luis! We thank you Chief Barone for your service and wish you the best!

The Pheonix Engine Company # 4 will carry Santa tomorrow night, Friday December 15,2017 starting approximately 6 pm. Be on the lookout for him. Just look for the Christmas decorated fire truck and hopefully your catch a glimpse or even meet him.
The Middletown Fire Department held their tri-annual elections Tuesday from 3-9pm at central firehouse. Congratulations to the new Chiefs in the department: Chief Engineer - Don Luis 1st Asst. Chief - Nick Barber 2nd Asst. Chief Bob Brady 3rd Asst. Chief Gil Flores also continuing their positions in the department are elected officials Bill Kelder department Treasurer and Sean Gerow department Secretary. We congratulate them and wish them luck for their 3 year terms starting January 1, 2018.
Middletown Fire Department will hold their Tri-Annual Election on Tuesday December 12, 2017 from 3-9 pm at Central firehouse. All Middletown fireman are urged to come out and vote. On the ballot are Don Luis for Chief, Nick Barber for 1st Asst. Chief, Bob Brady for 2nd Asst. Chief and Randy MaClean and Gil Flores for 3rd Asst. chief. Sean Gerow for Secretary and Bill Kelder for Treasurer. Good luck to these candidates.
Middletown Annual Inspection Parade went off without a hitch last Saturday. The weather was cool but beautiful as 19 units marched through the streets of Middletown NY. Chief Engineer Sam Barone Lead the parade as the Grand Marshal. As you all know, the parade last week was the last parade until the year 2020. Many trophies were given at the awards ceremony held at central firehouse at 7pm after the parade. Congratulation to the Mechanicstown Engine and Chemical Company # 1 for receiving the Bill Price memorial Trophy. Middletown Trophies awarded were Best Appearing apparatus Phoenix Engine Co # 4, 2nd best apparatus Eagle Engine Co. # 2. Best appearing Middletown Company Ontario Hose Co. # 5, 2nd best appearing Middletown company Eagle Engine co. # 2. Best Appearing Middletown company overall Eagle Engine Co. # 2. The Middletown Fire Department will hold their Annual Inspection Parade on Saturday September 9, 2017. The Grand Marshal of the parade will be outgoing Chief Engineer Sam Barone! Line up will be on Highland Ave and the parade will counter March. Line up is at 2 pm and step off is at 3 pm. The reviewing stand will be located on Wickham Ave at Thrall Park. The line of march will be Highland Ave to West Main St, to Franklin square left on North St. to Wickham Ave right past the reviewing stand on Wickham by Thrall park!
On September 8, 2017 commencing at 6 pm, the chief Engineer Sam Barone and his assistants including the Mayor Joe De Stefano and his common council will inspect the members, quarters and fire apparatus for the 158th Annual Inspection Parade being held on Saturday September 9, 2017.
Memorial services will be held today at 1;30 pm at Washington Heights firehouse in memory of Middletown Fire Police Past Captain Tom Brown. Class A uniform or proper attire is requested.
Middletown fireman were called out at approximately10:30 this morning to 47 John St. for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival heavy smoke was showing. After investigation, the call turned out to be food on the stove and the department ventilated the apartment. There were no reported injuries!

Middletown fireman were called to a working structure fire at 13 Wells Ave here in the city just after 1 pm on Wednesday. When fireman arrived, a second alarm was immediately struck sending additional apparatus and manpower to the scene. There were no injuries reported.
Middletown Fireman made a quick knock down of a kitchen fire at 15 Wells ave this morning here in the city! There were no injuries reported!
